The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a form used by the U.S. Department of Education to determine a student’s eligibility for financial aid, including grants, loans, and work-study programs, for college or career school. Submitting the FAFSA is essential for students who want to access federal financial assistance and many state and institutional aid programs.

Financial Aid applications must be completed for each new academic year. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and supply all requested documentation by the deadlines. This form can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Students should retain and keep a copy of their FAFSA and all other documents used to complete it in an accessible place. Applicants are notified in writing if additional documentation, such as tax returns, is needed.
